It was the penultimate round yesterday organised by the Torridge and District MCC in Devon and he needed a 2nd place finish to win the title with one round remaining which is the Kent round in September.
Dibs won the event yesterday easily from Alexz Wigg in second and Michael Brown in third. The event yesterday was a mix of true Devon muddy sections with some rock outcrop sections.

The practice lap was needed on the Saturday to ‘bed in’ the sections for the actual Trial yesterday. Dibs started well with an easy clean on section 1 to settle the nerves. A bad five on section four and another five on eleven did not stop Dibs taking the lead after the first lap. It was close though because Wiggy was good on the first lap to equal Dibs’ score of 16 marks lost.

It was the second lap that won Dibs the Trial with a fantastic lap of 12 marks lost. Browny was next best on 24 and wiggy 34.

The last lap was nearly as good but a bad five on section ten where he cleaned on the previous laps. This frustrated Dibs but he wasn’t too fussed because he sensed the Trial and title was his with two sections to go. A really good smooth ride on eleven impressed the spectators on the slippy grass onto big rocks. An easy clean on the last to finish the Trial on 44 marks, 24 marks better than his closet rival.
Trial won, Title won, job done.
